I've neglected this for far too long!

I swear I visit LJ almost every day.  But I'm bad at writing in this journal. :-I Mainly because I don't know what to write, and partly because I doubt anyone is reading.

But now I have something exciting to write about and I can't wait to brag! :)

It's been about 9 months since I discovered the Arashi fandom on LJ.  My life has been thoroughly ( Read more... )

Going to Japan last year would have to be one of the best experiences of my life! Not only for the touristy things that we did and the people and the food but I was able to get to see Japonism live ( ... )

Wow this is so helpful! THANK YOU! How long was your trip? I'm only going to be there for less than 5 days. :( It's actually a side trip my family decided to take before our main trip to another country to celebrate my sister's wedding. Hence the reason for our slightly big traveling party of 9. So I won't have as much time there as I'd like. But I'm hoping to plan a longer trip again within the next 2 years...*fingers crossed*

I've been to Asakusa before in the past. I never got to try the famous melon-pan though so that may have to be another daytrip in the future. Everywhere else you've mentioned I've not been to but they all sound exciting. I will keep them in mind! My main goal for this trip is FOOD and shopping. I can't decide if I should pack my usual items or just bring an empty suitcase. LOL I'm going to be so broke by the end of the year. ^^

We were there (as our first ever family holiday overseas) for nearly 3 weeks, so we managed to get out of Tokyo and travel Kyoto, Hiroshima and Takayama.
We found a street vendor selling melon-pan in Asakusa and it was soooo delicious! My daughter and I went for a walk there the next day to get some more.
The food was great in Japan, both expensive meals from restaurants and inexpensive meals from small shops, street stalls and even convenience shops.
Have fun packing your suitcase on the way home!
