“I’ve come to take you back.”
These words echoed in my ears again and again.
This is your chance, Hyde. I’m guessing you must’ve done enough good deeds to have the people up there finally agree accepting you back.
How come you’re not going with that angel? Why are you still standing here for? Go on. Go with him already. You’re making it harder for me to let you go.
Maybe a soft nudge on the side will snap you out of it.
“Hyde.”
Hey, the least you can do when someone nudges you is to notice him.
Hello, earth to Hyde?
“Aren’t you going to come with me?” The dark angel spoke again. Yes. Aren’t you going to go with him?
Hyde merely shook his head and took a step back.
“Hyde, what’s wrong? It’s only me. Don’t be afraid.” The angel reached a hand out but Hyde only backed away some more, quickly hiding behind me.
Almost immediately, warning lights flashed all together in my head. That was definitely not a good sign.
Something about this angel is scaring the shit out of him.
Wait, was he the one Hyde told me of before? What was his name again? Hyde said his name sounded like someone who was choking.
Ah, that’s right. Gackt.
Don’t worry Hyde. I won’t let him touch you.
“Hyde? Are you choosing this… this human over having the chance to go back to heaven?”
Look, don’t say ‘human’ like it’s a bad thing. Just because I don’t have wings like you guys do, doesn’t mean you can degrade me.
“Hyde, come here this minute and leave that human alone. That’s an order.”
The angel behind me could only cower in fear. Enough is enough. It’s about time I get a say in this.
“I think you should leave us alone.” That’s right. I, Tetsu, can be fierce and brave too. I’ll show that guy. He can’t just push Hyde around like that.
“What do we have here? A puny human who fights back?”
“That’s right. Now please leave us alone.”
He could only raise an eyebrow at me in reply.
Darn it. Go fly away and never come back! Can’t you get the message? Try to look fiercer Tetsu, you can do it.
Slap!
Ouch… he slapped me. He really slapped me. He’s going to get it now.
“So you really think you can stop me from taking Hyde back?”
“I know I can.”
Then he started laughing.
“You’ve got guts, boy. But I’m warning you now, your sorry attempts at bravery will be futile. Give up while you still can.”
“Leave. Now.” If you don’t, I might be forced to literally bite your head off.
His lips lifted up to a smirk.
“I’ll be back Hyde. Mark my words, I’ll get you back. You can’t deny me and you know it.”
Those were his last words before his wings spread wide and he disappeared into the dark skies.
After that, we were able to breathe normally again… or at least I was. Hyde was still frozen in his previous position, shaking like a scared child would.
“Hyde, everything’s all right now. He’s gone.”
Hyde shook his head, his lips trembling, his eyes open wide.
I did the only way I know to comfort him and assure him that he’s safe now. I wrapped my arms around his slender frame and kissed his forehead.
“Don’t worry, Hyde. I won’t let him take you away from me. He’ll have to go through me first.”
He slowly hugged me back but he still hasn’t stopped trembling. I don’t exactly know what’s going to happen next.
Yes, I’m scared to death and Hyde’s reaction is not helping one bit. But if I want to protect him, I have to be strong, strong enough for the two of us.
Think of it this way, Tetsu. This is just a busy day in the bookstore with dark angels who want to take your love away and can actually put your life on the line.
Just another fucking busy day.
