I really enjoyed this news post. It's a shame so many monks are blind attack build addicts.

Thanks again for reaching higher and displaying monks potential.

That KSNM solo was pretty amazing, congrats on that. After reading your LJ i looked up the toreadors ENM and was wondering which other ENM you know that is easily soloable? I know you do the woodsman one in Riverne.

Some ENMs are easily Duoable (i've done "like the wind" as mnk/nin and whm) and trioable ("Bionic Bug" as mnk/nin x2 and whm or rdm, "test your mite" as mnk/nin, nin and whm) etc ( ... )

Mog Locker on mules? anonymous January 4 2008, 22:43:21 UTC
How did you do ToAU Mission 2 ? Wasn't it a bit difficult as Sneak/Invis only lasts a few secs on low-lvl chars or do you have another secret?

I didn't use sneak or invis on my level 1 mules to get them a portal. I used the one in caedarva mire, most monsters do not agro, and the ones that do are easy to avoid if you keep sharp and know how each agroes(and know the position of things like the few fleas). It's not any harder than walking with a level 1 mule to jeuno by yourself from the main cities (which is very easy and something you need to do anyways to give them ToAU access).

Leveling subs. anonymous January 5 2008, 09:50:21 UTC
Heya genome, i read a bit about leveling subs in some of your earlier posts.. but it stated that it was better with /pup.

My question is now with the bst changes you think /bst would be a better way 1-37?

Im contemplating on leveling beast to lv 37 for that

Yes I'd say now /BST is better, although /PUP is still very nice on very early levels (1-10) when the difference between you and your puppet level is not so high, and you get flash, erase, dia, and pet-stoneskin, without having to worry about getting pets, mischarming etc.

You rock genome, you seriously do. Know any good sites that explain leveling bst in detail so i know what i need to get to level this sucka.

BTW I agree with you on the pl thing... its just horrible, its not even any better exp.

I think there are many sites, but to be honest I didn't really use them because for me part of the fun was trying to be creative in finding my own camps and maybe coupling leveling up with some other goals like farming or getting useful items like Giant Scales in Riverne Site.
To do that I would often use the advanced search function for monsters in ffxi.somepage.com just to narrow down monsters and pets of the right level. That also works well on bst sub (using lower levels for targets and pets).

But I am not a BST main so other people can make more detailed recommendations for BST guides.

Damn G, you be rocking that shiz lol anonymous January 5 2008, 16:57:37 UTC
Well, I have experienced first-hand Genome's soloing skill. Personally, over the course of the last 4 years, I have found Genome to be the most knowledgeable and skilled N/A Monk out there (since I really do not know too many JPs lol). Grats man on achieving the seemingly impossible on you MNK yet again. Yes, I will say it finally... MNK > WAR lol.
