I think too much

Every other commercial on the history channel is for life insurance. That made me think of It's a Wonderful Life. George Bailey, at the beginning of the movie, is going to kill himself so that his family can get his life insurance payout. I think it's kind of a depressing movie, personally...

And I don't think life insurance pays out when one chooses to take their own life.

life insurance doesn't pay out in the case of suicide. it is one of the grand ironies of death of a salesman, because willy loman is kills himself for his family to get his life insurance because he believes he was not useful to them alive. of course he then isn't useful to them dead either.
