Is he imagining it, or is his perfect date really here in New York City? And if his perfect date is here, what is Jensen supposed to do about it?
Note: This is a rom-commy sorta fic, which is a bit like HIMYM if Ted wrote romance novels. Misha and Gen seem a lot like Barney and Robin.

His new master, the young but ruthless CEO of TradeMark Entertainment, Jensen Ackles, seems no different. At least, not until Jared stops to wonder what a consummate Alpha male like Ackles would want with another Alpha as his pleasure slave. Things only get more confusing when Jared arrives at his new master's home and finds that there are no other slaves. He soon learns that Ackles freed all of his father's slaves when he inherited them and has been a vocal supporter and patron of anti-slavery groups since. Jared doesn't know how to reconcile this knowledge with his master's outward coldness, but the more he learns about Ackles, the less he seems to fit into the assumptions that Jared has made about him.
Note: I really enjoyed the Misha/Gen in this, and the author did some interesting things with the biological and societal power dynamics that come out of squishing slavery tropes with a/b/o tropes.

Jensen loves Jared, two years his junior, currently doing a semester abroad at Oxford and entertaining dreams of being Charles Xavier when he grows up. Without completely clueing Jared into what's at play, Jensen wants to put on at least another fifty pounds while Jared's at Oxford, by way of indulging in their mutual kink… This is where Misha comes in. Misha is Jensen's best friend, roommate, and fellow grad student. He has some problems with anxiety, emotional awareness (in that he has very little), and nonchalantly committing crimes against nature. Misha's also been in unrequited love with Jensen for four years, and in denial about having an eating disorder for even longer than he realizes. And he's fairly certain that he's pissed off some Supreme Cosmic Power, because between the sexual frustration and his looming relapse, it really looks like the universe is trying to screw him over.
