I am considering getting my own car. Yes, this would require me to learn how to drive properly, but that doesn't strike me as too difficult. I know the basics, and my current driver has started turning up late when I need him, so obviously I need a new arrangement.

Does anyone actually drive themselves around the city nowadays?

idiots, skills i don't have

You're really thinking about driving around here?? You're braver than you look....

The roads are appalling, but I've never let a little challenge stand in my way. I don't like being driven around every day without being able to do it myself.

I don't think many people do drive themselves. With the public transportation available, why would they? It's better anyways.

I expected as much. I can't stand the congestion of the city's public transport, though, so perhaps I shall become one of the few who brave the streets in a car on the way to school.

Parking would be a nightmare, I suppose.

Well...if you hate the subway, walk. I walk all the time, maybe you should walk with me!

Parking at school? Do we have a place for that?

Walking?

I think I live a little too far out for that.

There's definitely a small carpark in the area. I can see it from one of my classrooms, through windows facing east. I assumed it was the school's, since most things around here are.

You sound significantly more enthusiastic about it than everybody else.

NYC's too congested for even that half the time.

It doesn't hurt to learn to drive, but I wouldn't recommend driving in the city. The subway is much more efficient.

Well, I avoid the subway by any means necessary. Far too crowded for my liking. And I don't like not knowing things, so not knowing how to drive is fast becoming an annoyance. I shall definitely have to learn, even if I don't end up driving around the city.
