My Grandad had a massive stroke in his sleep last night. The doctors say they can't do anything but make him comfortable and wait for the inevitable. He's had a good long life and he isn't in any pain but it's still very sad for those of us who love him ( Read more... ) -
Eyes of A King by Catherine Banner...
...is one of the worst books I have ever attempted to read. I don't think I made it past the first chapter. It reads like it was written by a 13 year-old. Actually, it reads like some of the terrible fanfic I wrote when I was a 13 year-old. Blah.

i just spent hours working on the gusset of a sock only to realise now that it's done that i've been doing it wrong and therefore need to undo all my work.
why didn't i double check the pattern at some point before now?
