It's Wuthering Heights here

Dec 27, 2013 23:07

It's wuthering outside and the blowing snow is creating whiteouts and halos around the lampposts. It dropped 18 degrees (36 degrees F) in four hours. We have flash freeze and wind warnings scrolling across the TV channels ( Read more... )

That sounds wonderful. Especially the part about being cozy indoors when the weather isn't fit to go out. {SMILE}

I hope you've been enjoying the holidays, whichever ones you observe. {Warm Smile}

I celebrate Christmas as a non-Christian. :) So, a very Merry Christmas to you in whatever positive aspect it holds for you.

I thought you might not observe Christmas religiously. {Smile}

A lot of my neighbors observe it non-religiously. Of course, a lot of my neighbors observe it mainly as a warm-up for the really big holiday: New Year's. (That's a two-day celebration, with both Eve and Day seriously involved.) {Smile}

I an my parents do more for Christmas, both religious and non-religious. {Smile, wink}

The only possible good snowstorm is when you're safe at home with purry furries and don't have to go anywhere AND it melts off right away! ;)

We had about 10 inches of snow two weekends ago, and now it's all completely melted because later that week it got way above freezing for several days in a row. In fact, today is supposed to be 10 C. This more typical for us this time of year, not the huge amounts of snow. We don't usually get tons of snow until maybe January or February. But the weather has been weird here this year - tornadoes in November, big snowfall in December, etc.

I envy you your weather! We've had constant snow from the beginning of November and consistently colder than average temps. In fact, we've had as much snow already as we used to get all winter. If this keeps up, we're going to have record amounts this winter.

The furry purry is sitting on my desk in front of me now as I type this. There! I've just stroked her three times on your behalf, and her purrr is rumbling away happily.

*sends strokes to your purry furries and hugs to you*

I've just petted her twice and told her that that was from Mews. She purred mightily and squeezed her eyes shut in happiness.

The storm has ended. Now we're sitting at around -16 C (4 F). Given that we had actually soared up to 9C (around 50F) yesterday afternoon, and dropped to the current temperature in a matter of six hours, that was quite a roller-coaster ride! But the wind has dropped now, so it's more comfortable outside than it was last night!

*hugs you*

I wouldn't mind some snow here, so if you've any spare? All we're getting is wind and rain, and I do so hate rain

sounds like you and that cat both had the best idea for a cold night though :)
