This is getting out of hand. It seems that every time I hit Digg.com or some other user-submitted news site, there's a new story about police or some other authority figure abusing their powers. Most of these are kept off of the mainstream news where the majority of us would see them - most likely to prevent civilians like you and I from being so

I agree with a lot of your rant, but I have to wonder about this a bit-

If you work for the people of this country and we pay your wages with our tax dollars, then every last moment of your work life should be 100% public and viewable to any tax payer.

Aren't both your jobs either city or state jobs, funded with tax payer money? Should your work life be 100% public and viewable to any tax payer? (I dunno, maybe you wouldn't care or mind. I would...) The above statement should apply to you as much as any cop or politician since you have a tax payer supported job.
