So a lot of people tell me that I look like I belong to the bear community. I guess it's a good thing because I like how no one fits a cookie cutter image like in other communities. However as you can see in this picture I like to get in touch with my less masculine sometimes. I need answers...can I fit into this community?

I'm technically a bear, but I'm not mentally a bear. Having said that, I think it's important to know who your audience is. Just make sure you don't lose yourself in a label.

Welcome!

Once a person loses himself in labels, he's in danger of becoming a stereotype. That's not the way I want to go.

Thank you for the welcome. :)

The bear community is just a sub-culture of a sub-culture.. Bears, cubs, etc. aren't monolithic. A lot of bear boys pull the "macho drag" which is SO over the top. Our community isn't one size fits all or monolithic.

And I can totally relate to the masculinity/feminine aspects.. Yes I've done drag for fun but I also like having facial/body hair.

What I enjoy about drag and makeup are the theatrics, that artistry that has to go into it. It's also fun pretending to be someone else for a little bit. Otherwise, I love being my big, hairy self!

Hell I dye my hair differen colours, sometimes my beard too. You will have no problem. The answer is bein comfy with who you are and not being afraid. I have known many hot bears that look like REAL men, but as soon as they open their mouths - flowers and rainbows appear! LOL! Love em though!
