Summary: Raidou’s a dork and Genma goes to comfort him a bit… mostly we’re just poking them with sticks and seeing what they’re do XD
Warning: see the rating. and Genma's an idiot

Genma grinned, glancing over his shoulder as he led the way to the door.

Raidou pulled out keys, half setting up the wards.

Genma rolled his eyes. In a village full of ninja, it was pointless to bother locking your doors, even with wards, unless you when full S-rank, which would take a ridiculous amount of time. If someone wanted in, they got in.

"Oh, knock it off. They’re not defensive. They just, tell me what's happening." Raidou followed Genma out after blowing out the candles, studiously not looking at him. Not his ass, or legs, or anything else. Why would he? He had it memorized.

"Have they ever gone off?" Genma personally didn't do anything to protect his apartment other than stick a sign on the door that said 'owned by a jounin' either it worked well, or just no one cared. He had never found anything missing, even when he went on missions.

Raidou nodded. "You've set them off twice, you twerp."

Genma grinned. "I was only looking for you my precious." He teased. "Aside from me?"

"Only when I was inside." Raidou said. "Suicide watch from the hospital will walk right into your house, you know. Check for signs of depression. Unopened mail, if you're eating right, cleaning normally, your hygiene.."

"Suicide watch?" Genma asked nervously. He had no idea Raidou had ever been under a suicide watch.

"After this." Raidou gestured at his face. "I don't think we hung out as much then. Couple other times, after bad missions. You don't know if you're on it unless you ask. Or if you accidentally pop some ANBU in the face for breaking into your house."

Genma smirked. He’d forgotten that. The bruise had taken two weeks to heal. "Nothing serious then?" He tried to make it sound lighthearted, but he knew a bit of honest worry for his friend's wellbeing slipped through.

"Nothing that got me dragged in."

Genma nodded, feeling at least less nervous. He'd had his fair share of bad missions. He'd probably been watched a few times. He'd just never made the connection with the increased ANBU chakra around his house after one. Probably had to do with living downstairs of Kakashi. "Good to know."

Raidou punched his arm. "Relax, I won’t kill myself on your couch."

Genma yelped, jumping sideways. "Didn't say you would." He growled, rubbing his arm. It didn't hurt, it was just unexpected.

Raidou looked around for something else to discuss, then laughed "You brought that?" He gestured with the crutch, balanced on one leg. "All the food you could have saved, and you steal my last bottle of good liquor?"

Genma held the basket up, turning it around to find the bottle. He hadn't even noticed he'd grabbed it. "Sure. You never know, could be fun." He smirked at Raidou, intending the remark to be taken the wrong way.

Raidou just sighed. Genma got extra friendly when he was drunk, touchy-kissy friendly. At least he didn't get too loud. "Alright, fine."

Genma grinned, walking a little bit faster, a happy spring in his step. He held up the basket again to see just what it was they were going to be drinking tonight, and if he didn't go nuts possibly tomorrow night as well. "Damn, this is good stuff..."

"Was a graduation gift." At least whiskey aged well.

Genma nearly stumbled at that. Graduation? It was old and probably had a certain amount of sentimental value to it. Genma was touched that Raidou would let him share it. He wasn't sure what to say. "You've had it that long and haven’t had any of it?"

Raidou shook his head. "Guess I was waiting for a special occasion, but now's good."

"I'm not worth this." Genma said, slowing his speed to shuffle beside Raidou. "You should keep it."

"Sure you are. It'll be my rent."

Genma smiled at Raidou's generosity. "You know I don't charge you rent. Unless you want to pay I have an idea." He leered suggestively at the man, blatantly obvious.

"Take the booze, Genma."

Genma grinned sheepishly. "I've been found out." He took a deep breath, accepting his fate. "Alright, if you're sure."

"I'll share it with you."

Genma nodded, pointing with the basket at a building a few yards away. "That's it. How well can you do stairs? I'm on the second floor." That hadn't occurred to him. Genma would gladly carry Raidou up, though he doubted the other man would appreciate it much.

"I can do stairs just fine thank you." Raidou said, shifting and starting. It wasn't too bad. "It's not that I can’t put weight on it. It just hurts."

"Just asking." Genma said defensively.

"You can take this-" Raidou lobbed the eighty-pound mission bag at him and got up the stairs much quicker.

"Gyah," Genma let go of the basket, wobbling back and forth to balance it in one arm and catch the bag in the other hand. He pitched forward slightly before readjusting his center of balance and looping it over his shoulder. "Hey." He shouted indignantly.

Raidou was waiting by the door, looking smug. "Didn’t drop the bottle, did you?"

"No." Genma grumbled, mounting the stairs up to his floor, turning the knob and opening the door. "Welcome to my humble home." He said without much flair. "You know where everything is."

Raidou set his things tidily by the door, leaned his crutch there, and sat on the couch. Genma grumbling was cute as a button. Really. Raidou smiled as charmingly as he could.

Genma toed his shoes off, moving to set the basket down in the kitchen. He'd put stuff away later. He wandered back out to the front room. The apartment was small and practical, the typical bachelor pad, much less 'luxurious' than Raidou's actual house. "I only have one bed. It's pretty big, we can share it, or I can take the couch. Your choice." Genma hoped Raidou chose share, even without any sex entering the bargain. The couch was in no way anywhere near as comfortable as the bed.

"I'm good on the couch. You crashing out now?"

"You're in the bed either way. I’m just finding out arrangements for tonight." Genma ran a hand through his hair, trying to think of something he could be doing.

"C'mon, sit."

Genma grinned, walking over to the couch. "Why didn't you tell me you wanted me to sit in your lap?" Genma teased, joining Raidou.

Raidou smiled, rolled his eyes. "I didn't say it, because that’s not what I meant. Too sensitive to sit on the cold pillows? My poor Genma is a tender ass."

"You know my poor skin, love." Genma grinned, falling easily into his typical 'with Raidou' banter.

Raidou leaned back. "I know I'm grounded, but what’s up with you? Doing any away missions or just riding a desk till the exams?"

"Probably a desk jockey, hope I’m a desk jockey, but you never can tell with the new Hokage." Genma leaned his head back, staring at the ceiling.

Raidou reached out, touched Genma's jaw then pulled his hand away so quickly that Genma could almost believe he'd imagined it. "Hope you have that for at least a month. Feel weird in here without you."

Genma's head shot towards Raidou at the imagined touch. He must be going insane if he was starting to image Raidou's finger's on his jaw. "I'll be here a while don't worry." He shook off a shiver, trying to get the feeling of Raidou's fingertips along his skin out of his mind.

Raidou grinned. Leaned his head back, looked at the ceiling innocently. "Not worried. You always come back."

Genma smiled though it was forced. Everyone always comes back until they don't. Then, they never come back. "You just get comfortable and get that leg to heal." He nudged Raidou's knee with his own, indicating which limb was injured, as though either of them could have forgotten.

Raidou was slouched, and a slouched Raidou took up a lot of space. "Oh, I don't know, I thought I go for a run in the morning." Sarcasm. "I'll heal. I'm good at healing you know." All that practice.

Genma snorted. "I think you've gotten enough practice this lifetime." Genma exhaled, melting into the couch. It'd been a long day.

Raidou smiled. "Go to sleep if you're tired."

Genma sat up glaring at Raidou. Even if it was summer and getting dark out it wasn't really that late. "Not tired. Want some of that booze you forced me to take?"

"Sure." Raidou smiled.

Genma rolled up to his feet ambling into the kitchen. "Still feel weird opening a gift like this." There was clinking and pouring, and Genma wandered back into the front room carrying the opened drink and two filled glasses.

Raidou took it. "To good company?"

"To good company." Genma agreed clinking glasses and downing the drink. "Whoa smooth." He stared at the empty glass, flopping back beside Raidou.

"You're not supposed to chug stuff like this." Raidou scolded, shifting, giving Genma his space. He sipped it. Was good.

Genma stuck his tongue out. "I'll drink it how I like." He poured himself another glass, following Raidou's advice and only sipping.

"Fine, go ahead. I'm just saying, you know?"

"Yeah, yeah." Genma waved a hand vaguely as if that explained everything.

Raidou sipped, relaxing. "Thank you."

Genma sighed, pouting. He wasn't sure why he felt like pouting at Raidou, but he did. Crossing his arms, Genma took another sip.

Raidou cocked an eyebrow. "Are you pouting? Why?"

"I'm not pouting." Genma said defensively, sticking out his lower lip and facing away.

Raidou set down his glass. Put a hand on his shoulder. "Oh, c'mon."

Genma shivered. Raidou was touching him again, and this time he was sure he was being touched. "I'm not pouting." He said again, though he didn't sound convincing.

"Yeah you are." Raidou’s hand shifted a little, rubbing in a morbidly platonic way, thumb just touching skin. "What's wrong?"

Genma sighed staring into his drink. "I don't know." His back was still mostly to Raidou as he turned the glass idly, watching the liquid swirl gently.

Raidou's hand rubbed a circle on his back, between his shoulder blade. "Moody little thing."

"Am not." Genma pouted harder.

"Yeah you are. You’re lucky you can make it look cute, or you'd never get laid." Raidou brought his other hand up, started kneading at his muscles.

"I'm not moody." Genma pouted, leaning into the massage. "Wait, did you just call me cute?"

"You can be." Raidou said with a shrug. He pressed harder.

Genma shivered, his back starting to arch from how good Raidou was at that. "You think I’m cute?"

"I think you can be cute."

Genma pouted again. "You don't act like it."

"I also think you can be a brat."

"I'm not a brat." Genma grumbled, rolling his shoulders at Raidou's hands. It felt good, really good.

"You can be. But like I said, you can be cute too."

"What am I more often?" Genma chugged the rest of his glass just to get rid of it, setting it on the table and leaning back.

Raidou let his thumbs sink into Genma’s neck. "Usually cute."

Genma hummed, happily scooting back farther.

Raidou grinned. "See, moody. I compliment you and you perk right back up."

"I'm not moody." Genma grumbled though halfheartedly.

"And now you're pouting again."

"I am not."

"Yes you are." Raidou smiled, stopped rubbing, finished his drink.

"Why'd you stop?" Genma asked, turning around.

Raidou shrugged. "It wasn't cheering you up."

"It felt good." Genma leaned in resting his head on Raidou's shoulder. He wasn't even really drunk yet, the alcohol hadn't sunk in.

Raidou didn't stop him, didn't respond either, just looked at the man half in his lap, curled to him like a kitten.

Genma closed his eyes humming. "You're warm."

Raidou touched his hair, hesitantly, pulled his hand away again. "You're gonna sleep on me aren’t you?"

"m'not." Genma nuzzled feeling mostly awake just touchy feely.

"Yeah. Sure. Got to be Genma."

"What does that mean?" Genma sat up a bit looking into Raidou's eyes from only a few inches away.

"You're planning on sleeping on me, I just know it." Raidou smiled.

"Hmm if you're offering." Genma grinned.

Raidou half shrugged. "You already said you'd make me take the bed."

"You're sharing then?" Genma didn't like sleeping on couches, especially his own, which was a lumpy mess of chronic back pain just waiting to happen.

"I'm not kicking you out of your bed."

"That's nice of you." Genma laid his head back on Raidou’s shoulder, nuzzling the other man's neck with his nose. He knew any minute now Raidou would push him away like he always did, but he was determined to enjoy it while it lasted.

Raidou shifted uncomfortable, but didn't stop him. Genma was just going to be extra touchy cause of the booze. Great.

"Hmmm. Warm." Genma purred, wrapping his arms around Raidou. 'Any minute now,' a little voice in the back of his head told him despairingly.

Raidou stood, arm going around Genma's waist. "Come on, moody. Bed."

"I'm not moody." Genma whined, pressing up against Raidou. Well, if the other man wasn't going to push him away, might as well enjoy it.

Raidou set him on the bed and disengaged. "Yeah, you can be. look, I'm gonna change, okay get your pj's on."

Genma huffed, scrambling over to his dresser, pulling out a pair of fluffy pants. Without a word, he began obediently stripping to change into his sleeping clothes

Raidou just put on thin sleeping pants and an old ratty shirt.

Yawning, maybe he was more tired than he thought, Genma switched into the pants, neglecting a shirt as he wandered back over to Raidou and pulled him into bed. "Warm." He said again with a sleepy nuzzle

Raidou sighed and gave up, sliding into the bed, more or less the middle.

Genma purred. Raidou wasn't usually anywhere near this friendly. Smiling, Genma happily pulled the other man close, burying his nose into Raidou's neck.

"Don't push it, Genma." Raidou said, arms awkwardly going around Genma. "It's just cool out."

Genma whined softly, loosening his hold around Raidou's waist. "Meanie." He mumbled, eyes drifting shut. "Not moody."

"It's cute though."

Genma grinned. "You called me cute." He was definitely getting drunker, though it was doubtful he'd have a hangover in the morning considering the quality of the alcohol.

"Yeah. You're cute."

Genma purred again, tightening his arms fondly. "You're cute too."

"You say that a lot."

"You are though." Genma pouted.

"Silly man." Raidou relaxed against him, felt Genma almost melt. He shifted a little, rubbed Genma’s back.

Genma cooed, curling against Raidou and moving back into the petting hand. He was having a very good night.

Raidou's lips almost brushed Genma’s forehead.

Genma shivered, though it was unclear if it was from the lips or the cool. "lve yu" He mumbled, soft and half heard, only barely audible at all into Raidou's neck.

"Mmm?" Raidou leaned his head back. Skin jumping where Genma's lips touched him. "What'd you say?"

"Hmm what?" Genma asked, blinking at Raidou unclearly. He honestly didn't remember saying anything specific.

Raidou frowned, slightly, sounded almost like. Naw, Genma didn't do mushy stuff.

"You're being weird again Rai." Genma mumbled, rubbing a hand along Raidou's spine.

"I'm not the one being weird." Oh, that felt nice. Too nice. "Stop that, Genma. Go to sleep."

Genma whined, still moving his hand. Petting Raidou felt almost as good as being pet by Raidou. "You keep talking."

"You keep touching." Raiodu retorted. He started to pull away.

"Don't." Genma stopped, burying his head in Raidou's chest. He really didn’t want the other man to go. Not yet.

Warm writhing petting Genma was going to get a rise out of him in all the wrong ways. Because gods knew if Raidou even thought about getting hard, Genma would probably grope him. "Fine, but you behave."

Genma hummed. He was sleepy. Just let his hands stay, though he really didn't want to stay. He sighed nearly clutching Raidou close and letting himself start to drift.

Raidou carefully smoothed Genma’s hair, let him sleep. The man was a sweetheart, he mused. Doubly so when he was asleep.

Genma purred as fingers combed through his hair. They felt good. Really good. Probably too good, but Genma was too tired to care if his dreams were possibly going to take a lewd turn in the middle of the night.

Raidou slid asleep too. He awoke a few hours later by Genma poking him.

Genma hummed as he rocked his hips forward again. He was having a wonderful dream. In it, Raidou had finally not pushed him away, and they were having deliciously rough and bumping sex in his bed or maybe it was Raidou's bed. Genma couldn't really care.

Raidou didn't move.

Genma rocked again, moaning softly, lips parting.

Trying to gauge how asleep Genma was, Raidou let his hand slide through Genma's hair again, slowly. If he was, really out of it... Raidou swallowed. The smart thing to do would be to get out of the bed carefully, without waking him. Let Genma hump a pillow.

Genma purred, nuzzling Raidou's neck with his nose. He breathed deep letting his tongue come out to lap at skin. Raidou tasted good.

Oh dear gods Genma was sleep fucking. Raidou swallowed, let his hand slide down Genma's side, wondering what the hell he was thinking.

Genma smiled, mumbling, "Rai, so good." his hand moved up into Raidou's hair, playing with the mess.

Raidou thumbed Genma's hip bone, where it was exposed. "You're dreaming, Genma, " He mumbled.

"Good dream then." Genma mumbled to his dream. Nipping at an ear, he let his other hand move, drifting under the real Raidou's shirt to touch at skin.

"This, this isn't real." Raidou repeated, catching the hand. "Just, relax. It's a dream." He could hold both of Genma’s hands in one of his. Left him a hand free to slide Genma's pants down. A little.

"Who cares? I want you Rai. I need you Rai." Part of Genma knew he was dreaming. It was the only thing that let him speak so freely, he knew Raidou couldn't hear him. He groaned, rocking his hips hard against Raidou's

Even slurred and soft, Raidou knew what Genma was saying. Maybe in dreams he was enough for Genma. He swallowed, kissed Genma's forehead again, hand sliding across Genma’s belly.

Genma groaned, feeling himself getting close. This dream was more realistic than his usual ones. He could really feel Raidou's hands along his skin, really smell Raidou's sent, taste Raidou's skin. He nipped at Raidou's jaw, latching to his neck and starting to suck. "Rai." He breathed. It wasn't much more, he was close.

Raidou’s fingers curled around Genma's shaft very gently, didn't want to wake him. Gods.  He swallowed, hard himself, feeling Genma twitching in his hand. This was a bad idea, he told himself again. Bad, bad, bad and stupid.

Genma groaned, thrusting and coming hard in Raidou's hand. It was so good. It was never this good. He relaxed, bonelessly flopping against Raidou. He purred happily as his eyes drifted open, and he saw neck in front of him. That was new. He looked up, coming face to face with... With a strangled yelp, Genma jumped back falling off the bed, onto the floor.

Raidou clasped his hands together - sticky -- and relocated to the living room. Face down on the couch. Shaking, deep breath. Go to sleep, fake sleep, ignore the hard on. He was still dreaming, that was it. That was what he could tell Genma. Years of training had his body under control quickly. He wiped his (sticky) hand on the pillow.

Genma looked around the room, still slightly disoriented. He looked down at himself. Sticky, damn. He had something he had to know, though. He stuffed himself back in his sleeping pants, ignoring the stickiness and hurried out to the other room. Raidou was on the couch. He looked asleep, but his muscles were too tense for that. "Rai?" He asked then added. "Dou?"

"You yell a lot and kick. I moved out here." Raiodu lied

Genma glanced at his hand, quickly wiping it off on the back of his messy pants. Raidou was obviously lying. What Genma didn't know for sure was why. He'd definitely felt a very responsive hand around his cock just after waking up, before it was removed. "You're lying." Besides, he was a ninja. Ninjas didn't toss in their sleep that much

Don't look at him. "Your stupid sex dream woke me up."

"Why'd you stay?"

"Didn't. Moved out here."

"You stayed long enough." Long enough for Genma to come. Genma didn't understand. He desperately wanted to. He took a step towards the couch, kneeling at the arm, silently pleading Raidou to tell him.

Raidou stood up in one motion, went to the door. "This isn't working. I'm gonna stay at my house." He grabbed his crutch, his bag. “This isn't working."

"Wait." Genma stood, following Raidou, resisting the urge to reach out and physically stop the man. "I messed up. Just stay? Please?"

Raidou ignored him. "I don't. I don't do this. G'nite. Thanks for the offer."

It sounded needy, but Genma really did want Raidou to stay badly. something told him if he let the man leave tonight all hope he had of something more with him would be lost. "Raidou." Genma pleaded giving in and grabbing the man's shoulder. "I'm sorry."

Raidou twisted, hand jerking up, knocking Genma’s hand back. "No."

Genma backed away, fear starting to show in his eyes. "I'm sorry."

"I can't, not with. I can't deal with sluts like this. You're my friend, but, I, just." He waved a hand, started walking.

Genma stared, trying to think of something to say. "I haven't... I haven't slept with any one in two weeks. The dry spell I told you about. It's not really a dry spell." But he was talking to an empty hall. Raidou had already worked his way down the stairs.

Genma ran out the door watching down the hall. He was too late. Raidou was stubborn enough there was nothing that would bring him back into Genma's apartment, not tonight, and judging from how mad he looked, possibly not ever. Genma slumped to the floor staring at his feet. He'd probably just made the biggest fuck up of his life, and there was nothing he could do about it

Raidou took a COLD shower when he got home, shoved himself into his bed. Gods, his foot was throbbing now.

Genma eventually slumped back into his home. He glanced at the clothes Raidou hadn't repacked before leaving. At least he had an excuse to go see the man tomorrow. He flopped into bed, trying to get to sleep. It took a good hour tossing and turning to do it.
