This wasn't the intended companion piece to Peaceful Moments. I had vague thoughts of something as fluffy but finding my cat's body just destroyed all those ideas. I probably will write the original that was meant to link up to Peaceful Moments.
Writing this little fic helped me a good deal. And as I told the person above, my original intentions had been a completely different follow up story to Peaceful Moments. *sighs* Probably going to go write it soon, though. Wrote the sad, now to write the happy.
For the most part, I'm very happy how it came out. Oxymoron anyone? I figured since they both made it to thirty (and older in Raidou's case) that they were strong (or lucky) enough to stay alive. I'm going to go write the original companion fic now. The sad story has been written and now it's time to write the happy.
Wow. Sniffle. That was sad but beautiful. The way Genma is willing to let him go even though it is the last thing in the world he wants to do is really powerful.
Thank you. Genma strikes me as the type of person to be able to let go despite the amount of pain it will cause. For sometimes when you really love someone, you just have to be able to set them free sometimes.
I'm not explaining what went on through my head when I wrote this very well. So I'm going to stop before I keep rambling.

There should always be sad to balance the happy, and this was powerfully written (and you gave them a very long life together for being shinobi). ;)
