In addition to my constant quest to understand and learn to write music, I've taken up the venture of learning Korean. Luckily, unlike my desire to learn Arabic, I have help in the form of tutors. tell me this: do the symbols stand for the words themselves or the sounds that make the words? Do they have punctuation or capital symbols like capital letters to identify something as a name?

The sounds are the words. It's a system of letters that create syllables.
I don't think so.
