hmmmn... red arrow, headphones, no helmet, but he wasn't on a cellphone? Does that mean he's not elegible for a Darwin nominee?

The cyclist suffered wounds to his face and head and was transported to San Francisco General Hospital. He was not wearing his helmet, Oropeza said, and had headphones on at the time of the accident. Leave a comment

In order to be a Darwin nominee, the person has to be dead. This guy is definately on his way to becoming a contender for a darwin nomination.

I think you can be nominated, but not have a chance of winning-- that is winners must die.

the darwin website has them as "honorable mention".

but i think they are merely stupid, not ingenious enough to be a nominee (like the helium ballon hoisting the lawn chair).
