We've started a tradition in the house of having Family Dinner on Sunday nights, as a sort of bonding thing, and making sure we all manage to get together once a week, and to reduce some expenses. The lamas don't really bother to explain the whys and wherefores, but as near as we could figure it likely has something to do with disturbing the flow of prana. Many of the other recommended dietary restrictions that are supposed to facilitate that practice seem to come from a branch of Chinese/Tibetan medicine with which I'm hardly familiar, but which seems to deal with moderation of a sort, or perhaps a kind of macrobiotics ( ... )

K, What would you recommend reading to kind of get a Buddhism for dummies feel for the religion? A book that would not read like stereo instructions, if you get what I mean.
