It seems that to leave the country one needs a passport.  However, to get into any other country, particularly if you plan to stay for any length of time, one must acquire a Visa by going through lots of annoying channels and scheduling appointments months in advance.  The best part is how you need to fill out 'two to three' applications, and ( Read more... )

. . . You do realize that that would presumably require at least as much paperwork, probably in Italian, and probably have some charming bureaucratic snarls in it somewhere . . .

Yes, but whereas I have to do the work for acquiring a visa, dad could do the work for getting dual citizenship

Because I need to get a visa to go to France, and it has been annoying already and I have barely started.
