in lieu of personal pics, which we'll post later, Big Ben's Victoria has very nice panoramas showing four of the walks we took in the Otways during our journey on the Great Ocean Road. Maits Rest and Melba Gully were beautiful, as were Erskine and Carisbrook Falls.

It's even more fun to do the G.O.R. on a bike!

Every time I go in a car, it rains, then it blows a gale, then it freezes.

Just ask Kylie!

I have several other witnesses who can also vouch for one horrible trip on a motorcycle. wet is not the word.

the Ottways are wonderful, as is the lighthouse and the national park, but you can't beat the 12 apostles for sheer monolithic magnitude.

we got just enough weather to remind us it's winter. we had rain on the surf coast and in the Otways and sunshine on the shipwreck coast. I was worried it might blow the whole time, but it didn't hinder our trip any. I was glad Mac made me buy a good raincoat before we left, though.

we did enjoy the 12 Apostles and Cape Otway. visited the lighthouse on a cold wintry day, walked the grounds, went up and out on the balcony and watched the spray churning up along the coast. saw the Apostles on a gorgeous day near sunset and went again the next morning to see them in a different light. did the same with Loch Ard Gorge and walked all around there pondering the wreck and the eroding coastline.
