Why would you make a broom out of rock?

But, why rock? Wouldn't wood and grass make more sense?

It's worth a shot, if you can make it work!

We should get a lot of people together to play it again! I'd been missing it anyway, and that event saved me the trouble of trying to explain the rules.

Yeah, we should! Can you just make, y'know, a normal broom into a broomstick?

Now I kinda wish I came from a place where people had powers. Or, er, useful powers that don't threaten to eat your soul.

I was really looking forward to Quidditch. I wonder if I could actually get a levitating charm to work on a broomstick....

Yeah, superpowers are like that sometimes.

...Wait, though, if you don't have "powers" how can you do a levitating charm?

I'm fairly good with spellwork and the like. Not great-good, but decent-good, so maybe there's something in real-world magic (or my real-world magic, anyway) that's the equivalent of a levitating charm. It's mostly wishful thinking, but I've come to the conclusion that pretty much anything is possible.

Oh, okay. So far as I know that doesn't work in my world, but here... who knows.
