Horrible food involving boiled ground hamburg and canned tomatoes. I'd rather be bombed.

food not bombs is an organization with chapters in many cities that believes that food is a right, not a priviledge. on saturday hickey and i went to newport for the first food sharing of newport food not bombs. they collect donations of food that would otherwise be thrown away by supermarkets and restaurants, cook meals with it, and share it with the hungry. sortof like a soup kitchen, only better. it's a good time, and i'm going to start helping out with cooking every saturday.

i'm pretty sure there is one in boston, if you're interested.

The United States is by far the largest exporter of weapons in the world, selling more weapons than the next 14 countries combined. Military sales account for about 18 percent of the national budget, far and away the greatest proportion of any nation. (Estimated budget authority as presented in the President's budget.) John Ralston Saul states that the American government cannot reduce arms sales because of the consequent fall in GDP.
