Little Damn Table

Kate looked up as McGee rifled through his backpack. "Lose something?" she asked.

"Hm?" he said, looking up. "I thought I packed a sack lunch, but I don't see it anywhere."

Kate winced at Abby walked into the squad room. "Um... brown paper sack, tuna sandwich with an orange?"

McGee narrowed his eyes suspiciously. "Yes. How did you know?"

Kate sighed and gestured at the empty desk across from hers. "I saw Tony eating it earlier. I'm sorry, I should have said something."

McGee sighed and said, "Great. I should start marking my lunches, like I did in elementary school."

"Considering the person you sit next to..."

"Yeah, well, in the meantime, I don't have any lunch."

Abby said, "Aw! Come on, McGee, I'll take you somewhere good for lunch, my treat."

Kate looked at Abby, surprised, and McGee said, "Wow, that's great, Abby. Thank you."

"Kate, you want any... thing... why're you looking at me like that?"

"Hmm? No, nothing, never mind." She smiled and said, "I protect my lunches from Tony."

"You'll outlive us all," McGee said, following Abby to the elevator.

Kate stumbled to the door and tugged her boxer shorts up. "I'm coming," she murmured. She glanced at the clock as she passed and groaned at the hour. She yawned and opened the door, squinting into the dimly-lit hall. "What?"

"What was with that look?" Abby asked, walking into the apartment.

"Come in," Kate said, closing the door and following Abby into the living room. "What look?"

"When I offered to take McGee to lunch. You know I ended it with him when you and I... you know you shouldn't be jealous, right?"

Kate yawned. "Yeah. Sure."

"So what was the look about?"

Kate dropped onto the couch and crossed her legs. "We have to talk about this now?"

Abby shrugged and motioned at herself. "Yeah, apparently."

Kate sighed and said, "About four months ago, I loaned you ten bucks for lunch."

"And?"

She shrugged. "I don't know. And nothing, I guess. You made such a huge deal about paying me back and it's been four months... I thought I'd forgotten about it, but I guess I didn't."

Abby reached into her back pocket and withdrew her wallet. "Ten bucks?"

"No, Abby, I told you then... I don't want you to pay me back."

"Well, if you're still resenting it..."

"I'm not resenting it!"

Abby sighed. "Well, maybe if you got something out of it. What do you think, ten dollars equals... a kiss?"

Kate arched an eyebrow. "I'm not going to say no to that."

Abby walked over and Kate uncrossed her legs, she straddled Kate's knees and moved forward until she was kneeling on the couch, straddling Kate. With one hand, she pushed Kate back against the cushions of the couch. With the other, she hooked Kate's chin and angled her face up. Abby ran her tongue over her bottom lip, getting it wet and then closed the distance. She flicked her tongue against Kate's top lip, making her moan slightly and taking full advantage. She sealed their lips together and felt Kate moan, deep and long, her body turning to putty beneath her.

Abby's hand moved down Kate's chest, over her tank top - hardening the nipple as her knuckles brushed over it - and down, resting on the plaid material of Kate's boxers. She touched Kate through the underwear and curled her fingers, making her body hitch. Abby pulled back, curling her tongue and leaning away from Kate's parted lips. "Well?" she said.

"That was a ten dollar kiss?" Kate breathed, eyes still closed.

"From me to you, yes, that is a ten dollar kiss."

"You know," Kate said, clearing her throat and squirming on the couch. "A-after interest and inflation..."

Abby smirked. "How much do I still owe you?"

"We can do the math in the bedroom," Kate said. She cupped Abby's ass with both hands and stood, holding Abby against her and carrying her out of the living room.

Abby squealed, wrapping her legs around Kate's waist and holding on. "You have a calculator in the bedroom?"

"...Yes."

"And you're going to figure out what I owe?"

"Yes."

"What if I don't have exact change?"

"Abby," Kate said, kicking the bedroom door shut behind them.

"Yes, Caitlin?"

"You can drop the metaphor."

Abby laughed as Kate dropped her on the bed.
