Autopayments auto enabling
LJ apparently has a 'bug' that turns auto payment on when it has the necessary to do so and they are off.
As a suspicious character I wonder if the Russians being keen hackers and custodians of LJ has anything to do with this.
I need to take a more serious look at primarily posting to Dreamwidth. -

New PC works
I slapped in the Windows 7 Pro disk and switched it on and it booted from it, then started loading Windows files... and promptly stalled. Hmm. Bugger. OK, try again... and that was the last problem. Windows installed, no network driver, oops. Installed the motherboard disk. OK, now networked. Installed the cooler controller, now I can see it isn't ( Read more... ) -
Well bum.
Nothing ever goes quite as expected the first time. If I were building this PC again, which I will be tomorrow, I'd start by attaching the heat sink hold down fixture to the board and then bolt that in to the box. Next would be the wiring, then the memory, then the video card, then the radiator and second fan and finally the heatsink ( Read more... ) -
Writer's Block: B.Y.O.B. Holidays
Christmas, it's what I grew up with. I am 100% atheist, but as a Brit this is the family time of year and that's what it is called. I don't care or mind what anyone else celebrates, that's for them not me and I wish them well. But nobody gets to tell anyone else their holiday has the wrong name. Merry Christmas. -

I have a better handle on why I get pissed off about the "Aspergers diagnosis" today.
A friends sons is certainly Asperger's, he is very math and science oriented, loves math books, always wants to make things. Whatever. Yes, he's a boy and he's technically interested and competent. I think he's about eight. She freaks out at the idea of someone ( Read more... ) -
