Last night, sitting outside in the dark to take a smoke, I turned the radio on and heard Duke Bluebeard's Castle swelling out into the night. Wonderful movie, but trying to describe its appeal is definitely a bit of a challenge. You either accept it on its own aesthetic terms or you don't.
