Today is Kira Roessler's birthday, She was the bassist for Black Flag from 1984-86 and most people are surprised that Black Flag ever had a female bassist because punk music is, for some reason, thought to be a male-driven sport. She was the sister of one of the other guys in the band and dated Rollins for a bit from what I've read.

Actually her brother was in greg ginn's other band DC3, and she and henry had already broken up. Funny enough she was in DC3 and then henry rollins called her and asked her if she wanted to be in the band, but he said: "this has nothing to do with you and me.", so she asked her brother Paul to join DC3 and she joined black flag.

You have an amazing encyclopedic mind when it comes to bands and music, I love that, I tend to be the same way (not so much with Black Flag, though). I'm going to try to go to your show tomorrow night, but I'm not sure if I'll make it in time to see you guys perfom 'cause it's my birthday and I'm going out to with with the fam so I will most likely get there late.
