Well just got home from the chess intercol and we went down hard. 9-1 and i was the only person to win:D suppose there's an upside. Still feel a little sorry for ashwin who was the only person to lose, and since saints have never beaten us 10-0 that must hurt. well done for the chess thing, georgeous, and well done for not letting saints lose 10-0. don't stress about the prefect thing. a couple of prefects here got un-prefected and so wham-bang there was an opportunity for me to hav boarding house captain like i always wanted - and it was only then that i figured i didnt want it at all. the thing about prefects here is everyone treats it like such a big thing, but at the end of next year who the hell is gonna remember anyway? i realised after elections that i didn't want the position, i just wanted to know that people voted for me - and some people did, so i'm happy. one girl came up to me and told me she thought i was the only one that deserved it and i nearly started crying i was so flattered. and you're not covering up the hurt - cos if you were you wouldn't even suggest that you were because you'd be pretending that you weren't - well that's what i reckon anyways ( ... )

Trust me George - coming from an actual prefect. The position is just a facade, it's all about the prestige and if you're a bit of a rebel (as i know you are) having to conform and do the correct thing is often really annoying!

Lol bad luck but well done at the same time... poor ashwin though, was he really upset? Ah well nice work.
And i guess since you aren't going to bother to get a new blazer now you aren't going to get 'chess captain' sewn on either? :P
The told us about prefect on the last day of term so everyone who was bitter about not getting it could go home and get over it. Good move probably...
Save the getting trashed until someone is there to watch you do something stupid.
