Luna glided into the Weasley twins store, it was her lunch break and she had wandered down here from her office at The Quibbler. Her, George, and Fred had become friends over the last summer when she had began to spend more time at the Burrow with Ginny, they found her refreshing and she couldn’t help feeling the same way about them. One of them though… She felt a little more than friendship towards, but because he would never feel the same way towards her(after all, she was Looney Lovegood. Who would want to be with her?) she tried not to dwell on it too much.
Leaning on the counter she watched them finish with a customer before each turned towards her.
“Hello Lovely-“
“Luna, and how are you-“
“This fine afternoon?” They both grinned at her, having given her that nickname after getting tired of hearing her other one. Grinning at them she shrugged, “Oh I was just on my break. I was contemplating love and decided to come down here and speak with you two about it.” She said it casually her eyes drifting around the store for a moment, and she seemed to miss the look Fred and George exchanged, but they were suddenly much more interested. Especially George, leaving his twin to smirk knowingly as they waited for Luna to continue as they knew she would.
“Love is really just an emotion, right? Well so is anger, but did you notice that no one every says that they have ‘fallen in anger’ or sadness? Isn’t that odd? Love gets treated a lot different than any other human emotion, a bit like hatred I supposed. And no one says they’ve fallen in or out of that either.” She paused for a moment and her eyes focused more on them, drifting from one twin to the other, “And a lot of people say that if you can’t see it, feel it, touch it, it’s not real, but they place so much stock in love, something that can’t even be proven.” She broke out of her reverie suddenly, and ignored the fact that Fred was in mid-poke of his brother who was now in deep thought and spoke to him suddenly.
“What do you think George?” His eyes snapped back to her’s, and he found his response came much easier than he thought it would, “Well I think love is a lot like you, I could talk about it for hours and never explain it truly, I can’t get enough of it, and with both I have complete and utter faith in.” He had walked around the counter and ran his hand through her hair gently to have his hand settle on the side of her face, his thumb brushing her skin softly.
He continued to ignore his brother’s gagging sounds as he kissed Luna.
