Olivia lasted seven months.
It’s been five days since Olivia had awoken next to Casey Novak. It have been 7 months since Alex Cabot had ‘died’. Seven months that Olivia Benson only survived because she and Elliot knew the truth about their former ADA. That Alexandra Cabot did get shot but did not die from the bullet she took. That in fact, Alexandra Cabot was in Witness Protection. Hadn’t the brown-eyed detective known that her girlfriend was very much alive - by god - she would have killed herself. In her mind she played over the scenarios. She’d take an overdose of sleeping pills. Hang herself. Shoot herself. Jump into the Hudson River on a cold winter evening. But as she had seen Alex for the last time seven months ago all these plans were worth nothing because then and there Olivia decided that she would wait for Alex. That all it was, was a long vacation. That one day her Alex, the love of her life would be back in her arms.
Olivia lasted seven months.
Casey had walked her home on that night five days ago. They had a nice conversation going on and it took the detective’s mind off of things for a while. So she asked the red-head if she’d be in the mood for a cup of coffee, an offer that Casey eagerly took. Two cups of coffee later Casey had kissed the brunette and another minute later Olivia was moaning in pleasure, watching ADA Novak working her tongue between her tanned legs.
Olivia lasted seven months.
She regretted what she had done. She had cheated on Alex. On her beautiful precious Alex.
If only she could ease her conscience by telling Alex. But she couldn’t. Because Alexandra Cabot didn’t exist anymore. She was someone else, somewhere else. And as realization kicked in Olivia cried more than she had in the last seven months.
“I’ve tried, Alex. I really did.”, she sobbed into the blonde’s cashmere sweater.
