I was just, I was...I was...I was juuuust...listening to Etta James
Yesterday, Sanna was telling me about the film Cadillac Road, which is a biopic of Etta James with Beyonce in the starring role. After listening to some clips of Beyonce singing from the film (which she does sing well), I then listened to some Etta. I haven't listened to her songs or many oldies for a while. Damn, they don't make them like they used to :)
Hearing Etta sing is just amazing. She brings so much emotion and soul into each song she performs "sigh".
Among my favorites from her are At Last and I'd Rather Go Blind. I post two versions of the latter song here. The first is her recording of the song, and the second is an awesome live version she sings with Dr John. It gave me chills while listening to it, breathtaking...aaah, just fantastic.
Such a great song, very emotional, brings tears to my eyes :D
