Hawaii Part Two

Flew from Seattle to Maui airport and there are still no windows at the airport so the little birds still fly through among and around the legs of waiting passengers at gates looking for crumbs and tidbits. Occasionally they zoom up high and rest and go out again. We then flew to Kona airport on Hawaiian Airlines. We took the Dollar rental car

I have only been in Maui once but you just refreshed my memory of my trip years ago. I totally remember that airport and the birds all over. Also the NeNe! I was fascinated by the idea of a goose that lives on a volcano and only in that one area of the planet. The Silver plants there (I forget the name..Silversword?) are similar in that they only grow there on Haleakula crater.

Your trip sounds lovely. I have never stayed in a Yurt. Are there many on the islands for renting? Is it much more affordable than a hotel?
