Personality:
Gerard is definitely a man of many secrets. While he will let most people get close to him, especially ladies, his true feelings are kept hidden. This would include his loyalties and missions that he is sent on. But other than that he is a very sociable person, having been raised in the Pureblood society circuit. He never dispised these gatherings, but shone through liking the connections that he made and the people that he met. Not only that but he learned the ways of charming women. He loves flirting, it’s actually his favorite form of socializing, but he’s not one for just random flings. He can take relationships very seriously when he’s in one. Though some more ‘modern women’ might scoff at it, Gerard’s old-fashioned when it comes to dating and the like. The women should be catered to, and he will not allow them to pay for a meal, that’s not acceptable in his books. Holding doors open, giving gifts, and not troubling them with his problems are the staples that define him.
But despite of his social nature, Gerard is devoted to serving the Dark Lord. Often he’s gone for missions, and he has started to slowly make a name for himself in that arena. Otherwise he works very hard at his job at Curse Breaker. Even though it’s not his main area of focus, it interests him immensely and helps improve his charms skills.
Strengths: Both magical and personality:
As a student, Gerard did extremely well in Charms and Transfiguration. While he enjoyed DADA it didn’t really compare to how well he did in the other two classes. Even though he could of gotten by without trying very hard, he applied himself wanting to learn everything he could to be ready for his role when he left school.
But Gerard isn’t all brains though, he’s also quite a charming individual. He knows his social graces and how to cater to other people’s problems. If you interest him he won’t just let the friendship go to waste, he will invite you to lunch or dinner or make time to celebrate an occasion. Plus he’s quite the flirt and enjoys the company of women.
Weaknesses: Both magical and personality:
The harder subjects for him would be Care of Magical Creatures or Astronomy because they weren’t something that you could necessarily learn out of a textbook. Plus he would rather spend his time learning things that would further his knowledge, and studying about animals or the sky weren’t exactly things that would help him too much in the future. Also he never got into the sport of Quidditch, secretly finding it boring though he politely attended for social reasons.
Personally Gerard can get very jealous of people, especially those who do not work and yet have such success in everything. He’s a firm believer in working hard in everything you do, even if it comes naturally to you because a little knowledge never hurt anyone. Along those lines, if one of his girlfriends or interests is seen becoming too close or friendly with another guy, he will become extremely jealous and politely pull her away or have a not so friendly talking with the guy. But as far as his little sister Pearline’s concerned, Gerard views her as a little angel who could do no wrong. She’s his one true weakness, but if any guy tries to get near her he gets extremely protective. He can even go so far as to hurting the guy, but nothing permanent. Only some bruises or maybe a bone or two broken, nothing too bad or would get him in trouble.

He has a few fears, one of which is his fear of failure. Especially when it’s concerning anything that he is associated with including his talents and magic. He feels the need to work to his full potential so else he’s not only failing himself but everyone around him.
Also he’s afraid of his family getting hurt, especially if there’s a Death Eater attack. While he favors the Dark Lord, it doesn’t mean that he feels safe necessarily. Especially if it’s near where his mother or little sister is, then he wants to know exactly what’s happening and if they got hurt. They are after all his family and he wants to make sure that they’re safe.
History:
Gerard was born on March 31st to his parents Sinclair and Natania Devlin in Bidford-On-Avon, England. As a child growing up he was an only child until the age of 7, and up till that time he had to rely on himself as a form of entertainment. His parents never thought of the notion of marrying him off, but did impress the idea of finding a respectable girl with a Pure family to keep on the legacy. As a result he took it upon himself to enjoy life and girls as he pleased, as soon as he learned the social graces needed for life he fine tuned his flirting skills.
Throughout Hogwarts he excelled in most of his classes, keeping up on his studying and socializing, but making sure to keep a clean record so as not to disappoint his parents.
He became an older brother when his little sister Pearline was born when he was 7 and immediately felt immensely protective and close to her. While he liked hanging out with his older friends and cousins, he always made it a point to try and include Pearline as well. Having a younger sister also developed a sense of respect towards women, only treating them as he expected men to treat Pearline.
As soon as he graduated from Hogwarts, Gerard went into the Ministry, choosing to use his skills with Charms to his advantage as a Curse Breaker. It also helped that his father was one as well, but Gerard wouldn’t let his father’s influences get him the job. He wanted it fair and square. Along those lines, he also went towards the Dark Lord, lending himself to missions as often as he could.

After a moment he let a lazy smile drift across his face as he weaved his way through the crowd, pausing only to exchange greetings and praise women on their choice in robes.
Finally he arrived at his destination and put a hand on his mother’s arm, “Mother.” He kissed both of her cheeks. “You look wonderful. Father.” He nodded at his father before smiling at the couple they were talking to, “I don’t believe we’ve met before.”
As he paused for the parents to make their introductions, while his eyes moved towards a young lady who smiled genuinely. With a wink he held his hand and grasped the parents hands while looking at her, “Gerard Devlin. Pleasure to meet you.”
