I've had a little hunt I think the difference is you can go back and change them all at once, but that doesn't affect me because I set it up to be friends only from day one, so they're already at that privacy level.
Ah ok. I wasn't really wise to Friends only posting when i first started my LJ, so this is sort of a life saver for me and means i don't have to go back and individually edit posts.
Hi :) I've stumbled across your journal and it seems we have a few things in common. I hope you don't mind if I friend you, but just in case you do, let me know and I'll remove you from my list :)

Hey mate
Totally know what you're on about with the huge friends list thing. My journal has basically nothing because I don't know what to do. But anyway, I love Life On Mars, Harry Potter, Doctor Who, Torchwood... basically anything BBC (particularly BBC Wales, apparently... O.o)
I love your picture of Richard Armitage up the top, too. he is gorgeous.
Add me if you like. I saw your post on Fans of Life On Mars, about the theme tune. I've been looking for it EVERYWHERE. Gosh.

What exactly is the mass privacy tool as I've already got it set-up to automatically lock my posts, so wondered how it was different??

The mass privacy tool is something which goes back and locks old posts. I don't know if it's any different to what you've already get set up or not.
