Thanks to benveniste, I've just digitized 320 slides including the 4 below. What a fun trip down memory lane.

Holy. Crap.

I actually look like I know what I'm doing in those pictures. And my eyes are open in one of them, which is very unusual. As I recall, when I sang I generally couldn't bear to open my eyes. I'd try, and I physically couldn't do it. The photographer obviously caught me in an anomalous, but photogenic, moment.

Also, I married the handsomest guy in the room.

(Would you mind if I did a post with a link to this post? I've mentioned many times that I once was a chick singer in an unsuccessful rock and roll band (it may even be in my profile bio), but no one now alive - until now - has seen proof of that. Let me know if you'd uncomfortable with it, and I'll definitely hold off.)

And OMG, of COURSE we'll celebrate with you!! Yowza!! And, yeah, carnyjack should have kept his journal. The old curmudgeon. Heh.

I'm delighted you're as gobsmacked as I was. That's really interesting about you typically singing with your eyes closed. I'm glad I caught you in that anomalous moment.

Great pics. I think this predates my first meeting kaffyr and dr_whuh but maybe not by that many years.

I think we must have met the next year, at the 1986 Minicon, then.

That song no longer applies to me, of course, but I remember being so very chuffed when BB wrote it, particularly about the fact that he wrote about all of us bottled redheads. Heh.
