my view on the things said between the lines

Things never said
"I get it, Sam," Dean started, his brother's words still in his ear.
"... to get away from you."
Sam looked up, a frown on his face.
"Dad never cared enough," Dean shrugged," and I always loved you too much. You never had the chance to really find out who you are on your own."
Sam stared at him, a sad look clouding his eyes. "No, you don't get it," he answered, his voice soft. "You don't understand that it doesn't mean that you don't mean the world to me. Because you do. You just have to let me grow up."
