 what doesn't make sense is being emotional about being okay.  What I mean is, why would I cry while telling someone that everythings cool.  I'm not "secretly" lying and I'm not even lying at all....everythings okay.

You'd cry because of the fact that everything IS cool. The realization that you CAN live without them, even though you may not want to.

Everything is cool here, too. It doesn't mean that I don't miss home like hell, though. But I'm happy.
