I totally squealed like a little school girl. I totally just did that for sure, right now. That was such a cute, sweet ending! I was going to be sad if Feli left for good! I'm so glad he found a way to stay. Ludovicus was portrayed beautifully and with the information you written out a lot of it made sense. I'm just in awe by the whole story. Thank you so much for a beautiful story~ I couldn't ask for something more perfect than this because it's already perfect the way it is! Thank you, thank you, thank you so much for this story~!!
SCHOOL GIRL SQUEALING Are you trying to kill me with kindness here, seriously COHERENCY. WHERE DID I LEAVE THAT COHERENCY. But seriously, thank you a hundred times as well. I can't tell you how glad I am that you enjoyed this, nor how grateful I am for this amazing prompt you gave to me. I was in such a rut with my writing, but this just jolted my creativity back to life. And I'm squealing myself at this comment. Seriously, man, you are so sweet. Thank you again, you awesome, awesome person, and happy new year!!
I speak the truth and I did squeal out loud and people were looking at me weirdly. I'm very grateful that you were able to produce one of the best Roman fanfics that I have ever seen! I didn't know that you were in a writing rut either! :O That is something! And in a good way! Thank you so much with the power of a million suns for the wonderful story and I am eternally grateful. Thank and have a wonderful new year!
This whole story was marvelous! I love it and it wasn't even for me. I have to stop for a bit, because I'm wibbling again.
I'm back. Okay, this was everything I thought it would be and more. I was hoping that Ludovicus would set Felicianus free. If he was a centurion, he had to have the means and power to set a slave free if he wished to. Your notes confirm what I knew (don't ask me know I knew it) about slavery and homosexuality in ancient Rome. Thank you for sharing this and all the effort you put into writing it.
Wibbling. You have destroyed me. I made someone WIBBLE AND STOP TO RECOVER THEMSELVES. This will define my life from here on out.
I'm so happy that you liked the ending, especially as you seemed to think it was going somewhere darker, at least judging by my impressions from your comments. xD I couldn't give them a sad ending, not while there was a very historically plausible out and it was Christmas.
I felt it was very necessary to have Ludovicus free Felicianus as well. Their relationship was a beautiful thing, but it couldn't reach fruition (outside of a hostile environment, that is) while that power dynamic/struggle was still between them, even if Ludovicus was not a cruel master and Felicianus had few duties. But I'm rambling. xD Thank you so much for your lovely comments, and I am so incredibly happy that you liked this. (And I, for one, think the general public should have a working knowledge of slavery and homosexuality in ancient Rome ... and would be quite interested to see where you learned. ;) )
I did think it was going somewhere dark. I imagined the soldiers and other slaves around Luvonicus, not necessarily his slaves since he didn't have any others, being jealous and bullying Felicianus when his master wasn't around. I also expected more servants and slaves in his home, but there were none. His background defined his lifestyle
( ... )
Ahh, I see. That would have been a nice twist, and I think a very likely occurrence had it not been for Ludovicus' rank. You can say things about your centurion back his back if you dare to, but you don't mess with his property
( ... )
This whole story is amazing. It wasn't even for me but I found myself checking to see if it had been updated every day. XD It's lovey, gorgeous, I adore that you added some historical accuracy, and seeing the two of them happy and together at the end was wonderful!
Aww, thank you so much!! It's seriously flattering to hear someone was waiting on my updates. (I hope to God you are located in a reasonable time zone because from where I am those were being posted waaay too late. xD) I'm so glad you liked it, history-ridden and cheesy and all.
