Its more implied through reasoning and historical wording. The Polish-Lithuanian commonwealth is considered a marriage as is the Austrian-Hungarian empire and the German Empire, and all of those things.

Ah, I see! I was wondering if that what you were referring too. I know that the Austrian-Hungarian empire translated into a marriage and its dissolution into divorce, but in this case I was more going 'oh wait, canon never said so.' So um, totally my fault, but it makes sense. So, um, thank you.

And this is so weird, since by this logic and reasoning Denmark gave Norway to Sweden as a bride type thing.
