Addictive chase thriller which takes its assassin anti-hero protagonist across Europe (and beyond) as he seeks to elude professional rivals out to fulfil a contract on him.
Tom Wood's debut certainly motors along, and although it's not the most original tale of its kind (there are some obvious debts to the Bourne movie franchise here), I could only admire the elegance of the plotting when, during the breakneck speed finale, four different factions turn up in a hotel in Tanzania - two CIA, one Russian, one British - as well as our hero. Bourne meets Fawlty Towers perhaps. Anyway, I really enjoyed this (some of the best hand-to-hand fight sequences outside of Lee Child, another clear influence) and look forward to reading the next in the series.
