I was actually just thinking about you when I saw you had responded to my post. How have you been doing? Are you in a Grad program? I've been working on recording an album. I now have a recently tuned piano, a 1897 pedal organ, and a bunch of percussion things to fill in my guitar stuff. I got the pedal organ for free. It is pretty amazing although it is a little low in its tuning. I have to tune the guitar down and I am limited in other instruments I can use with it. I have two songs mostly finished. It is slow going because I can only record at certain times. I may have to get a professional to help with mixing and mastering. It is pretty difficult. I am getting better at it though. And I no longer have a job. I was a care provider for about 6 months and the guy I was helping decided I wasn't working out. He told me he would write the best letter of recommendation he could, but I have "no marketable skills" He probably is right. If I don't make it as a songwriter, I probably will end up living on the streets.
Good, good. I got back from Romania this month, I've been running around and etc, I am in a grad program, I'm moving to New Haven this Friday and start school on the 2nd.
I recently looked at your myspace and was disappointed when I didn't find anything new, because you've mentioned the piano and organ before. Good luck with recording! Tell me when you post more stuff on myspace.
You don't have friends that also record music? You should get in on the song-writing community. I'm sure there is one where you are. People will be able to help you, you'll be able to join in on small shows, it'll make everything better and also, you'll get inspired and you'll be less likely to feel discouraged, and etc. Only good things! Unless people get competitive, but it's a small price to pay.
Well, sometimes with people it has to do with how well they work together, not necessarily your skills. Don't be so hard on yourself!
