surprisingly i'm going to go against what most people expect me to say and say do not get a mac. I have a very good reason for this, i found when i switched from pc to mac the sound of everything i had done changed dramatically and tbh there are a few sounds that i miss from when i was writing on a pc [many years ago.] now it wasn't that bad when i switched as i was/still am in the embryonic phase of writing music but with 3 albums under your belt i think it'd probably be for the best to stick with pc's dependent on how much you use the sounds from vst's/sample loops and what have you and how much is just loops you've recorded from the 909. Like i said the change in timbre was almost like switching between a les paul and a strat in some respects, drum sounds that sounded cool on a pc suddenly didn't and then new ones that previously sounded crap sounded ace, not to mention synth sounds. Anyways thats my tuppence worth.
what? The fact that you have progressed or the fact that a shift in computer architecture and onboard sound can alter a project? Like i said it depends on what you are using the pc for. If it's totally sample based [ie all your loops orginated from the 909 and you using ableton purely for launching shit] then there shouldn't be any issues and if you know enough about the synthesis side then you shouldn't have too many worries. if you where to jump ship however i would recommend doing it before starting another album rather than halfway through.

Nothing is worse than getting stuck into one working practise and therefore never progressing.
Although the chances of that happening to jamie are pretty fucking remote considering how much he's progressed from album to album.
