I use a multi-protocol IM client (wow, that's a lot of geekspeak) called Adium that lets me sign into MSN, AIM, and ICQ. I was just twiddling around in it and saw an option for LJ as well, so I put in my username and password and the LJ Bot (Frank) came up as my friend
