Okay, so. CFUW 116 was my first time running a game like that, and attempting to have some sort of cohesive plot, so... Feedback on that? It'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I THINK YOU DID A GOOD JOB although it threw me off a lot to have the day off in the middle, and I actually . . . forgot the game was still going after that. XD But that's also on me, and if you were exhausted, that's understandable and I wouldn't hold it against you. But it did confuse me ( ... )

Yeah, I will definitely keep that in mind. If I continue with this plot, I think everyone will be informed of it.

But I think the next game I'm going to run is going to be a trip back to "AMERICA IS SHEPHERDING, GET BACK IN THE CAR" sort, because... honestly? Those are just infinitely easier for me.

This isn't against you, but rather to everyone who has been involved in CFUW plots lately. . . And the fact is that they really don't belong in CFUW. I first took note when Zazzle decided to do the first demon game, because the wolves dominated that game because no one had the ability to actually play the game. It seems to keep happening again and again, and I would prefer it not to happen. We have au_die, so that plots like this and so on can take place without having to have the unnecessary element of ousting. I even ran a plot myself where I mimicked CFUW, but I didn't include it in the comm, because I knew I had no plan for the game to be an integral part of it. Funnily enough, the people playing instinctively went against ever following the format that the game was based on!

As a plot, I want to applaud you for going out on a limb and trying something! I know how rough it is to moderate something like this and run through blind. To be fair, I didn't do much with it, because I don't seem to find them appealing unless I'm in ( ... )

Yeah, the plot thing only works if it surrounds the cfuw element-- which... this one sort of didn't. And I'll keep that in mind if I do this again. But I also liked the nature of exploring? But I also tend to favor darker CFUW games, too. The lighter ones don't usually keep my interest, for one reason or another.

And yeah, next time I do this, I am definitely getting someone to help.

Well, you're someone who has played in kill games past, while I've thrown Akito into games with singing robots. Each person has their own flavor which is the beauty of being able to pick and choose which game you sign up for. My only concern is that lately the games have been built up so much that it might be intimidating for someone who has an idea for a game to go through with it because so much razzle dazzle has been added to something. People don't tend to have confidence when they walk into things, so I would like to make it easier for anyone to pick up the reigns and try their hand at the game without worrying of it being too simple. Again, this isn't directed at you alone, but this is a general trend that I've seen which should be noted ( ... )

Agreed, re: the game having been built up a bit too much. @_@

And thank you, really. I felt really bad, when I'd realized what I'd done, and how unfair that was to you.

I FOR ONE HAD A FANTASTIC TIME. I didn't expect it to be a search and investigate game either, and was actually pleasantly surprised when it was because those are my favorite, but yeah, agreed that letting players know that beforehand is always great. |Db

The plot. I loved the plot so much! Like, I had a huge blast getting all the info in one place and having a character who could figure shit out, because it was pretty *_____* in that regard. There were so many NPCs though that--uh I pieced together most of the history and stuff in my head but there were still a lot of unanswered things like WHAT ROLE DID THE PLAYERS ACTUALLY HAVE THAT THEY WERE HIRED FOR BEFORE JONES CAME IN, WHY DID ADRIAN JONES AND MARY ABBOTT BOTH HAPPEN TO HAVE RELATIVES COME IN GUNS A-BLAZIN', WHAT THE HELL WAS NASSERMAN STAYING BEHIND FOR, et cetera. Am guessing those will be answered if you do run a prequel/sequel ( ... )

Pretty much what the others said. I think the plot was interesting and executed well, but I didn't realize it would require that much attention and I've never played a Real Time format game so I was kind of floored (and as you know, I went looking for the rules Zazzle made up for her 'in person' games).

I don't know how you can improve the exploration part of the game (I do like the way Biz did her text adventure for the Masque plot, but it kind of different from this), but seeing everyone progressing that much faster than I was, I ended up kind of just giving since I was kind of seemed redundant for me retrace other people's steps. I like to play CFUW for the interaction and when a lot of it is [exploration on my own], it didn't appeal much to me.

It was a good game and a good plot. I'm really impressed you pulled it off.

Overall, people have said much of what needs to be said. I just want to add that I was under the impression this would be a game with weird status effects and some intrigue. I was not under the impression, it would be a game with mazes, ciphers, a lot of reading and a somewhat dark plot. While I enjoyed playing my puppy, I did feel bad making everyone else feel bad for him, and had I known that total ramifications going into this, I probably would have picked another character. Also Toboe's role made it especially challenging ( ... )

To answer the first part: The vision I originally had for this game was not how it turned out. I let the game change as I was running it to try and better fit... I guess the direction it was going? I'm not sure how to explain it. But I didn't intend on some things happening, but they happened because it seemed right at the time to do it. Which... is kind of how I've always run plots, and I should have realized my natural tendencies would influence any plans I had.

But I don't know== looking back at it now, it would have made things easier for you to do your job had you known the wolves. So, I'll keep that in mind as a lesson's learned for next game.
