Perhaps I have, following some sort of trans-rational rejection of pre-rationalized consciousness. How very Wilberian of you. Could Yui be some genius of Integral Thought?
Or maybe she just lost count. Seven fingers would be interesting, though I might prefer eight on each. I would be able to count and keep track of numbers in hexadecimal, a much more efficient way of logging inventory into the archaic database we have at the store.

Ulcerative keratitis is actually a common condition, but the use of contact lenses over an extended period of time can cause what would normally be a regular inflammatory ulcer to become a deeper infection requiring medical treatment and even corneal transplant. Ironically, some doctors try to help correct or aid the vision of those who have had deep ulcers with soft contact lenses themselves. In these cases, extreme hygenic care of the lenses and the eye itself is imperative.
My eyesight is poor enough as it is. I see little use in inviting further damage purely for aesthetics.
Unfortunately, only my fictional avatar is blessed with extra digits. I have, as what I gather to be normal, the regular five fingers on each hand. While some individuals are born with large bone spurs which resemble extra fingers, most polydactyls with fully functioning, extraneous digits are limited to six per hand and foot. While dead or partially developed digits are not uncommon (around 1 in 700 births worldwide), fully functional ones are extreme medical rarities. And to find a person who had seven functional fingers... that would be most fascinating. What a grip that person must have.
What an astute observation. With the fingers wrapped one direction around a cylinder and the thumb across the other, it is easy to see how difficult it might be to fully determine the number of fingers on the hand. I do write quite a bit, but I am right-handed. Perhaps that is just a mirror-effect or oversight on her part.
Thankfully, Yui is only slightly hyperopic. Her ophthalmologist assures us that this is normal for children her age and is resolved on its own except in extreme cases.

So instead, here is just a photo of the image. It's as close to a picture of seven fingers as you'll be able to get from me. I'd be happy to model my five, though, if you would like.
