Heck, it's a far far better home that he made for himself than his Dad ever offered him.

As long as he can hide his Big White Bird away and not pollute the timeline too much, he could do worse than to stay there a while.

What he ends up with is truly a victory; he's got homes in two worlds. One where he's "just another academic" & one where he's the very intelligent & amiable squire of the local lord.

Truly, I envy him his situation about this time.

For panel 3, I thought they were bushes - but sheep makes sense too. I -really- like this comic. Asher gets first-hand validation that he made a difference in many lives. Plus, I can see them treating his absense in a manner similar to his having gone on pilgrimage. It's just a lovely strip.
