I just... what with book 5 and re-reading some parts of book 2 and Alfie Allen's stupid conflicted face, well, let's just say I've been kind of fascinated with Theon. I have all kinds of emotions towards him, not always good ones at that, but I do love characters that do that me.

I'm glad you enjoyed this, even if it doesn't offer a perfect fix of things. I don't think these two can have a perfect thing, not even in a different universe, but I do like hopeful endings.

I totally agree with you. I've developed such Theon/Jon feels lately, and I think it's the fact that their relationship is so honest, in a way. Like, they know they won't be perfect, and they know that they will always have some sort of struggle, but they make do. And that, to me, makes this relationship closer to reality than most others.

And that's just the thing! The ending isn't happy, it's hopeful. Exactly. And that's what does it for me, I think.
