Question!

What program do you guys use for writing?

I have this new story idea eating my brain, and it's the first time I've had this happen in a long time, so I really want to get it out and get back into the habit of writing... but I have all these pieces from different points in the story, and Word just feels so clunky, so I'm looking for options!

I use Scrivener, and have heard that if you don't shut it down, you can make the 30-day trial last seemingly indefinitely. The full program is $45, though they usually have a code with Nano. (I LOVE Scrivener, btw.)

There is also Storybook which has a free version. I haven't used this but it kind of ALSO looks awesome. I'm planning to check it out soon.

There is also yarny which I believe is just a web app. I haven't used this either and it's not as detailed as either of the other two programs, but it is an option.

I didn't realize that Scrivener was available for PC now, so I've downloaded that. Thank you for the other suggestions, too! Maybe now I can stop procrastinating and actually write something ;)

I highly encourage the writing of somethings.

OpenOffice, but it's basically open source Word, so I dunno if that'd meet your needs.
