So today that girl came over.  Just 3 hours of talking and whatever but she was very touchy feely huggy and it's clear she's showing interest.  The best part is she brought me back Belgium chocolate, yum!  I'm on a diet but I cheated today...so sue me.  It's a problem in that since we're such good friends if something does develop it will likely be

Everyone is different, and I hate giving my opinion as though I have an answer... because I don't. I think what people are leaning towards (or what I would mean when/if I said it) when they make comments like that is that you should be careful you are not using a new relationship to replace the old one. The two relationships should be independent of each other... not the new one taking the place or healing the old one. A new relationship, while helping mask the hurt you presently feel with good feelings, will not heal the wounds of the past. Those issues/feelings will remain until you can heal them within yourself and this is probably easier to do without clouding them with a new relationship. Everything is easier said than done though, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. :)
