In the recent chapters, we've been given a lot of insight into Lenalee and Komui's thoughts and how they view each other. Here is just a little something I wrote on what I think they may be thinking in Chapter 138 and 140. We're given insight into what is in store for Lenalee's future and shown how both Komui and Lenalee view this information.

Very good insight into what they were both thinking -- and I *would* like to see your thoughts on what she was going through in the Ark. You emphasized something that a lot of people don't get -- that she was never truly a "damsel in distress." Even though her body was injured, she still wanted to fight more than anything.

Exactly. Just because she was injured and couldn't use her Innocence didn't mean she was just excepting her situation meekly and giving up. She's never done that. It was hard for her to except the fact that she couldn't use her Innocence, but even so, she wanted to continue fighting and that takes a strong will. It takes a strong will to stand back up and go right back into the battlefield after being horribly injured. She isn't weak, although she views herself as weak (as well as some people in the fandom). It is the fact that she is female and unable to fight that many think she is a "damsel in distress," when she definitely is not.

Not many people are looking past the surface or care to do so to see that having an injury does not mean she is weak. If she is still fighting (mentally) and hasn't given up, then she is a strong character. There isn't many females that really fight in shounen manga. Lenalee is unique. So when she lost her power many thought she would resort to the typical weak "shounen female," pointing to the fight that she had been "whining and useless" during her whole time in the Ark. However, she did not accept this situation and even tried to fight when she was injured! She didn't accomplish much, but she tried. That is saying much right there.

This was a very good read and I would like to read more of your thoughts in the future. :) (And I agree with your analysis.)
