OK, so, for some people, it is. I've definitely seen people spend money they don't have and just try to ignore the fact that they're drowning in debt.
And in some cases, it's that people buy things they can afford now, but can't when something goes wrong. Or things they can afford as long as nothing goes wrong.... which it inevitably does.
But mostly I think this trivializes the problem. :(
the best comedy trivializes problems so you can laugh at them. i've never been this destitute in my life, and it's not because i spent carelessly, but if you can't laugh at it, it will beat you.
