OT: Renewing LJ - Rubles?

Hello, Readers! I'm hardly ever on LJ anymore, but I definitely keep my account active. I hope each of you is doing well, and still reading.

QUESTION: How are y'all renewing when it's time? The only option seems to be in rubles, and my credit cards are saying No Go to that. I don't remember what I did last year. Thanks!

Yeah, I don't know lol.

We came up for renewal in October. Tried to pay with my credit card and it wasn't working, so I put in a support ticket. They explained about needing to pay with Russian money/credit cards, but made it sound like they might be working on changing that? Anyway, as an apology, they gave us 6 months free. So we're good til February. I guess I'll figure it out then. They did make it sound like there are Russian money-sending apps that we could use or something, but I want to avoid that until there's no other way.

I tried to renew and it keeps saying that the transaction has failed!!! I tried both MasterCard
and Amex and it was the same with both.

I've had a paid account since 2004 and I don't want to lose it!

What can I do now?

Hey, I just saw this. I don't know if you've gotten it worked out or not, but if you haven't messaged LJ support yet, message them and tell them you're trying to renew and you don't know why it keeps failing. It's possible they might gift you some free time like they did with the comm. They should also give you some options (you may or may not want to take) regarding how to pay with Russian currency.
