I'm Sarah and I'm new to this community. I was interested in this community because, like all of you here, I'm sick and tired of having to be a pretzel in a bowl of chips when it comes to driving a car on the highways. I am sick and tired of this SUV trend, hell I just wish that this were like the other trends out there, they eventually faded fast ( Read more... )

"Unfortunately, there are those who are threatened by change, so the SUV thing is here to stay.

Actually, there is a glimmer of hope. Big, enormous, American cars were the "thing" until the 70s gas crunch when Japanese cars became the rage for their efficency. That and it looks like the sports car is coming back (keep in mind that the SUV trend seems to stem from the upper middle class or those wanting to look upper class) slowly but surely. So, while sports cars aren't greatest with fuel efficency, lets hope there is a bit more room on the road...

Call me an idiot, dumbass, whatever you want, but I liked the big enormous American cars of the '70s, don't ask why because I don't even know why either. Nowadays if you see one of those type of cars out on the roads, usually they've been restored inside and out. However, didn't they introduce catalytic(sp?) converters to make those cars more fuel efficient? Or were they made for something else? Personally the only kind of sports cars that I like are the convertibles. I'm still single and I'd like to at least drive a convertible while I still can.......I'm rambling on, aren't I?

Oh, they're beautiful. I was just saying that the SUV trend isn't for ever.

One day, before I die, I will own a convertible. I have to. Damnit. hehe.

I hope not. Maybe it's like the low-carb craze, however with Bush in office, I don't think it'll die down for until there's a democrat in office or at least a Republican who is very very environmental. I still wonder if those catalytic(sp?) converters were introduced to make those '70s cars more fuel efficient or not. I thought that's what they were for anyhow. If so, then maybe some SUVs should have one. However, you ain't gonna see me behind the wheel of an SUV EVER!
