I agree. He never went after anyone for personal ethics, of course, but this is, as you say, a huge legal violation and a flagrant show of hypocrisy. It's also just bizarre-- he authorized the kind of investigation that took him down. Still, I really looked up to him, as did a lot of people. So disappointing.
